Using the web effectively is a fine art - and this workshop aims to hone the online skills of members of climate action groups. We'll be developing our web and social media skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

To RSVP please email Ellen Roberts at roberts.ellen.x@gmail.com. We also want to know a bit about you before the workshop, so please fill out our three minute survey about your current web use.

Workshop program
Who is the audience for your website, and who do you want it to be? Does your website reflect the aims of your group? We'll look at how to make your website more personal, friendly and effective as well as tips for writing for the web and managing group input into your site. Each workshop participant will have the chance to have their website evaluated by the group for feedback on your site's accessibility and effectiveness.

The second half of the workshop will be an overview of other forms of social media: how to get the most out of twitter and facebook, using e-newsletters, and other hand on-line tools such as surveys and meeting tools. The overall aim is to develop an online communications strategy that works for your group.

Presenter
The workshop will be presented by Jane Curtis, who has worked with community groups and online projects, and understands the challenges of working in volunteer based organisations. You can check out Jane's work at her website: http://saucybeige.com/
